What does a dietitian do? Is it right for me?
Dietitians translate the science of food into everyday language and practical eating plans. Food is our fuel and we can maximise our health by eating well. Dietitians help people to improve their health through education, lifestyle coaching and accountability.
I am here to help you get healthier and happier. I really love seeing people changing their lives for the better and being a part of that change.

How do I make an appointment?
The quickest and easiest way is to click on the link to my booking page and follow the step by step instructions. BOOK NOW
Alternatively, you can send me an email detailing your preferred time (09:00 – 11:00), dates / days (Mon-Fri) sam@lyanawa.com
You are also welcome to give me a call during office hours at 081 203 5510. If I cannot answer, please leave a message or send a text or WhatsApp message and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Do I need doctor's referral letter to see a dietitian?
No, you can see a dietitian without consulting your doctor first. If necessary, the dietitian will encourage you to see your doctor for specific reasons and information.
Can my consultations be claimed from my medical aid?
Yes, the practice is contracted-in with all medical aids except PSEMAS, therefore we claim directly from your medical aid according to the amount of time spent with you face-to-face as well as for the compilation and revision of meal plans and for email or telephonic queries related to medical nutrition therapy.
Please note that there is N$330 co-payment.
Can I bring my husband, wife or partner to my appointment?
Yes, you are welcome to do that. In fact, I actually recommend it in order to get better insight into the recommendations that would suit you best. If you both require an individualized meal plan, it is best to book two consecutive appointments to allow enough time to cover all important information.
Do you see patients in the afternoons and over weekends?
Yes, by special arrangement only.
